Job Requirements
- Customer service experience
- effective communication skills
- knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
- prior experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk is preferred
- ability to work cooperatively in a high paced environment

Job Duties
- Actively greet, engage, and assist customers at the check lanes
- process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale system
- handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit and debit cards, SNAP EBT, and coupons according to company policy
- adhere to company rules regarding cash shortages and overages to effectively control loss
- follow guidelines on restricted sales such as alcohol and tobacco
- report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- adhere to all food safety regulations and store policies
- reinforce safety programs by identifying unsafe conditions and notifying management
- inspect equipment regularly and report maintenance needs
- create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products
- comply with all local, state, and federal laws and company standards
- manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively
- act with honesty and integrity on handling customer and business information
- provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
