Job Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months directly related experience
  • ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • ability to exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently
  • ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly
  • medium work physical demand
  • willingness to work rotating shifts
  • ability to comply with hospital safety and cleanliness standards
  • mod exposure to chemicals, dangerous equipment and materials

Job Duties

  • Oversee, coordinate, and perform computerized cash register sales transactions and cash management
  • resolve discrepancies
  • authorize customer returns, exchanges, merchandise credit
  • assure completion of all POS transactions and proper control of cash and media at POS registers according to department policy
  • Prepare, reconcile, and record cash receipts for deposit and prepare sales reports
  • Receive a variety of payments and other cash and cash-related transactions
  • verify and post to appropriate accounts
  • Project currency and coin requirements and reorder as necessary
  • Provide sales coordination and problem resolution for floor customer service staff
  • perform direct sales and customer service when required
  • Provide information to visitors, employees and medical staff regarding rules, policies and procedures related to cash and cash-related transactions
  • Serve food in cafeteria, stock and clean, including wiping down all table surfaces and chairs in cafeteria and meeting rooms
  • clean microwaves and vending areas daily
  • Serve on patient tray line as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of University Hospital patients, employees and staff
  • Clean and maintain a sanitary work area
  • ensure compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory agencies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
