Job Duties
- greet, engage and assist customers actively
- process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons and loyalty offers
- adhere to company policies on cash shortages, restricted sales, and loss prevention
- report pricing discrepancies to management
- follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- stay current with seasonal and special advertisements
- comply with food safety regulations
- ensure workplace safety by identifying and reporting hazards
- perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment
- create a welcoming environment answering questions about products
- comply with local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- manage conflict cooperatively and nonconfrontationally
- maintain honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information
- seek assistance when needed to resolve issues
- provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
