Job Duties

  • greet, engage and assist customers actively
  • process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons and loyalty offers
  • adhere to company policies on cash shortages, restricted sales, and loss prevention
  • report pricing discrepancies to management
  • follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • stay current with seasonal and special advertisements
  • comply with food safety regulations
  • ensure workplace safety by identifying and reporting hazards
  • perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment
  • create a welcoming environment answering questions about products
  • comply with local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
  • manage conflict cooperatively and nonconfrontationally
  • maintain honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information
  • seek assistance when needed to resolve issues
  • provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
