Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers
- Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages, overages, and restricted item sales
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with all promotions, ads, and company policies
- Comply with food safety regulations and reinforce safety programs by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions
- Provide excellent customer service by answering product-related questions and creating a welcoming environment
- Practice preventive maintenance and notify managers of any equipment issues
- Follow all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information
- Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Work effectively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
