Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage, and assist customers
- Process customer transactions through the checkout lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons according to company policy
- Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work to control loss
- Follow policies on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety policies and report unsafe conditions or accidents
- Inspect equipment and notify management of repair needs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering product questions
- Comply with all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
- Manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
- Demonstrate honesty and integrity with customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
