Job Duties

  • Be visible and actively greet, engage, and assist customers
  • Process customer transactions through the checkout lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons according to company policy
  • Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work to control loss
  • Follow policies on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Comply with safety policies and report unsafe conditions or accidents
  • Inspect equipment and notify management of repair needs
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering product questions
  • Comply with all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity with customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
  • Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
