Job Duties
- Greeting customers actively and assisting them effectively
- processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- handling various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons and loyalty offers
- adhering to company policies regarding cash shortages, overages, restricted sales, and checkout procedures
- reporting pricing discrepancies and following established policies for stamps, coupons, and gift cards
- staying current with pricing ads and promotions
- complying with all food safety regulations and guidelines
- reinforcing safety programs and notifying management about unsafe conditions
- performing preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting needed repairs
- creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers by answering product questions
- complying with all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- working cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- managing conflict in a nonconfrontational, cooperative manner
- acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- following directions and seeking help to resolve issues
- providing support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
