Job Duties
- Greet engage and assist customers actively at the checkout
- process customer transactions quickly accurately and efficiently through the point of sale system
- handle various tenders including cash checks credit debit SNAP EBT offline SNAP EBT WIC rain checks complex loyalty offers and coupons according to company policy
- adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work to prevent loss
- follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol tobacco and DVDs
- report pricing discrepancies to the scan coordinator
- follow policies and procedures for postage stamps gift cards and coupons
- stay current with all advertisements and promotions
- adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
- comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to management
- inspect and maintain equipment and report repair needs
- provide product information and answer customer questions
- comply with all local state and federal laws and company policies
- work cooperatively in fast paced sometimes stressful environments
- manage conflicts in a reasonable nonconfrontational manner
- act with honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information
- seek assistance when needed to resolve issues
- support interaction with minors individuals with special needs and older adults
- perform essential functions with or without accommodation
