Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively and visibly
- process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane
- operate Point of Sale system handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons according to company policy
- adhere to limits on cash shortages and overages and work to control loss honestly and effectively
- follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- stay current with present, future, seasonal and special advertisements
- comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines
- identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notify store management
- inspect equipment and notify management of needed repairs
- create a welcoming environment by answering questions about products throughout the store
- adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
- act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve customer and business issues
- provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
