  • Ability to handle a variety of payment methods and operate POS systems

Job Duties

  • Greet and engage customers actively at the checkout area
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Use the Point of Sale (POS) system to handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons
  • Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages, overages, and loss prevention
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items including alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Comply with food safety regulations and store safety procedures
  • Identify unsafe conditions and notify management
  • Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs
  • Provide product information and answer customer questions
  • Manage conflict professionally and cooperatively
  • Maintain honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information
  • Support interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues
  • Perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
