Job Duties

  • Greet, engage and assist customers actively and visibly
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale system
  • Handle various payment methods such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons according to company policy
  • Adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items including alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Maintain awareness of current and upcoming promotions and sales
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and support safety programs by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions
  • Inspect equipment and report any maintenance needs
  • Create a welcoming and appreciative environment for customers by answering product-related questions
  • Follow all local, state, and federal laws as well as company policies
  • Work cooperatively in fast-paced and sometimes stressful situations
  • Manage conflicts in a non-confrontational and effective manner
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues
  • Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
