Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively and visibly
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale system
- Handle various payment methods such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons according to company policy
- Adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items including alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Maintain awareness of current and upcoming promotions and sales
- Comply with all food safety regulations and support safety programs by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions
- Inspect equipment and report any maintenance needs
- Create a welcoming and appreciative environment for customers by answering product-related questions
- Follow all local, state, and federal laws as well as company policies
- Work cooperatively in fast-paced and sometimes stressful situations
- Manage conflicts in a non-confrontational and effective manner
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
