Job Requirements
- Must be of legal age according to State regulations to serve alcohol
- ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 lbs or less
- ability to properly charge correct prices for food and drink items ordered
- ability to operate POS and credit card equipment
- proficient interpersonal relations skills
- ability to follow written and oral instructions
- maintain company policies related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations
- maintain a neat and clean uniform and personal hygiene
- ability to identify counterfeit money and respond appropriately
- ability to provide fast, friendly guest service
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in a fast-paced restaurant or retail cashier role is advantageous
- strong interpersonal and communicative skills
- ability to operate point-of-sale (POS) systems efficiently
- proficient reading and writing skills
- working knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety, and sanitation practices
- ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain composure under pressure
- ability to follow instructions and work well within a team
- knowledge of state regulations regarding alcohol service
Job Duties
- Greet guests, receive food orders, repeat food orders, charge the appropriate price for each menu item ordered by guests, receive the correct amount tendered by guests and provide the correct change for each transaction
- enact gift cards requested by guests
- be familiar with and up to date with California Fish Grill Restaurant’s menu and prices
- interact with guests in a friendly and fast manner
- make corrections to guest orders in a fast and efficient manner
- determine counterfeit money and respond to situations involving counterfeit money
- assure age requirements are verified prior to serving alcoholic beverages
- treat all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction
- report to work in a neat and clean uniform
- keep work area neat and clean at all times
- clean and maintain equipment used
- complete requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned
