Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- availability for morning, afternoon, evening shifts including weekends
- ability to stand for extended periods
- reliable and punctual
- good communication skills
- basic computer literacy
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
- basic math skills
- previous retail or customer service experience is an advantage
- ability to work flexible hours including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends
Job Duties
- Engage customers in friendly conversation while making eye contact and smiling
- proactively offer additional assistance
- thank customers for shopping at Wegmans
- when on register, efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments
- properly bag items to ensure products arrive at their destination in the condition they left the store
- when in self-checkout area, manage traffic flow, direct customers to available lanes, ensure the lanes are in good working order and assist customers with system troubleshooting
- maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work space
