Job Requirements
- Customer service experience
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math including counting, addition and subtraction
- Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is desired
- Ability to work in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
- Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- Ability to provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs and older adults

Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently using the Point of Sale (POS) system
- Handle various transaction tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers according to company policy
- Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work to control loss
- Comply with guidelines on restricted sales items such as alcohol and tobacco
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions or accidents
- Inspect equipment for maintenance needs and report any issues
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products
- Follow all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environments
