Job Duties
- Greet and engage customers actively
- Process customer transactions quickly and accurately using POS systems
- Handle cash, checks, credit, debit, EBT, WIC, rain checks, and coupons according to company policy
- Monitor and control cash shortages or overages honestly
- Enforce restrictions on the sale of age-restricted items
- Report pricing discrepancies to appropriate personnel
- Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay up to date with all current and upcoming promotions and ads
- Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures
- Identify and report unsafe conditions and equipment repair needs
- Answer customer questions regarding products and store policies
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflicts in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner
- Maintain integrity and honesty in handling business and customer information
- Seek assistance as needed to resolve customer and business issues
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
