Job Duties

  • Greet, engage and assist customers actively
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons according to company policy
  • Control loss by adhering to cash shortage and overage limits
  • Monitor and enforce guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay updated with current and seasonal advertisements
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Comply with safety procedures and notify management of unsafe conditions
  • Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and report repair needs
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering product questions
  • Adhere to local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
  • Manage conflict in a nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
  • Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
