Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior cashier or retail experience preferred but not required
- strong attention to detail
- reliable and punctual
- ability to handle cash and perform basic arithmetic

Job Duties
- Greet customers at the cashier window in a pleasant and professional manner
- compute customer bills
- receive cash, checks and credit card payments from customers
- records amount received
- make change and issue receipts to customers
- provide refunds or credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise or as directed by managers
- reconcile cash drawer daily
- work with department managers to keep abreast of new products and services offered, their features and value, and any changes in price
- answer customer questions about service performed or products purchased, or refer them to someone who can
- handle customer complaints with integrity and poise and, when necessary, refers dissatisfied customers to the appropriate individuals for resolution
- reconcile gas purchase statements
- provide clerical and secretarial assistance to departments as needed
- act as backup to switchboard operator
- maintain a professional appearance
- keep the work area neat and clean
- performs other duties as assigned
