Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- basic math and cash handling skills
- prior retail or cashier experience preferred
- ability to stand for extended periods
- ability to lift moderate weights
- availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

- ability to use cleaning agents safely
- authorization to work in the country

Job Duties
- Observe all company policies and procedures
- maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and adhere to dress code regulations including wearing name badges, clean aprons, company polo shirts, solid black slacks and polishable black rubber-soled shoes
- be knowledgeable in and able to recognize or differentiate between various types of produce and departmental products
- assist courtesy clerks in bagging merchandise according to company policy
- greet all customers and provide them with prompt courteous assistance
- comply with all safety policies and procedures
- handle damaged or spoiled products and go-backs
- perform other duties and assignments as directed
- memorize produce item codes for faster service
- record all time worked through the time clock
- count cash drawer at the start and end of shift
- record all purchases into the cash register following company cash handling procedures
- collect payments and tender accurate change
- process various types of payments including cash, checks, EFT, WIC vouchers, food stamps, coupons, gift certificates as per company policy
- verify customer IDs and observe policies regarding checks, sale of alcoholic beverages and tobacco
- use correct pricing and PLU codes
- record any price discrepancies
- maintain a clean checkstand and comply with housekeeping and sanitation standards
- use and maintain equipment properly and report malfunctions
- tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning agent fumes
- adhere to security policies including register security and alertness to abnormal customer behavior
