Job Requirements
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol according to state law
- Must maintain punctual and reliable attendance
- Must follow company uniform and personal hygiene standards
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Must have basic math skills for cash handling
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous cashier or customer service experience in a restaurant setting is advantageous
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and food safety practices
- Ability to operate point of sale (POS) systems and credit card equipment
- Knowledge of safe work habits and compliance with company policies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure
- Proficient reading and writing skills
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately
- Physical ability to stand, reach, lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, and push or pull items
- Must be legally allowed to serve alcohol according to state regulations
Job Duties
- Greet guests, receive food orders, repeat food orders, charge the appropriate price for each menu item ordered by guests, receive the correct amount tendered by guests and provide the correct change for each transaction
- Enact gift cards requested by guests
- Stay familiar with and up to date with California Fish Grill menu and prices
- Interact with guests in a friendly and fast manner
- Make corrections to guest orders efficiently
- Detect counterfeit money and respond appropriately
- Verify age requirements prior to serving alcoholic beverages
- Treat all guests to ensure their complete satisfaction
- Maintain a neat and clean uniform and workspace
- Clean and maintain equipment used
- Complete in-service training and adhere to attendance, uniform, and hygiene policies
- Support safety precautions, fire safety, and disaster plans
- Maintain confidentiality of guest credit card information
- Comply with laws against sexual harassment and discrimination
- Cooperate and work with co-workers using tactful communication
- Follow up on complaints and promote positive public relations
- Perform other duties as assigned
