Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Greet and engage customers actively at the checkout lanes
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system handling various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons
  • Adhere to company policies regarding cash handling, restricted sales items, and checkout procedures
  • Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps and gift cards
  • Stay updated on current and special promotions and ads
  • Maintain food safety standards and reinforce store safety procedures
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment needing repair
  • Create a welcoming environment answering product-related questions
  • Comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
  • Manage customer interactions in a cooperative and nonconfrontational manner
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity concerning customer and business information
  • Provide assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed
