Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in a cashier or customer service role preferred
- knowledge of restaurant operations
- understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- basic proficiency with point of sale (POS) systems
- ability to handle cash and credit card transactions accurately
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- knowledge of company rules and policies
- ability to follow written and oral instructions
- ability to stand and perform physical tasks involving lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
- manual dexterity
- proficient reading and writing skills
Job Duties
- Greet guests, receive food orders, repeat food orders, charge the correct price for each menu item ordered by guests, receive the correct amount tendered by guests and provide the correct change for each transaction
- enact gift cards requested by guests
- be familiar with and up to date with California Fish Grill Restaurant’s menu and prices
- interact with guests in a friendly and fast manner
- make corrections to guest orders in a fast and efficient manner
- determine counterfeit money and respond to situations involving counterfeit money
- verify age requirements prior to serving alcoholic beverages
- treat all guests to ensure their complete satisfaction
- report to work in a neat and clean uniform with well-groomed hair and personal hygiene
- keep work area neat and clean at all times
- clean and maintain equipment used
- complete in-service training, maintain acceptable attendance, and follow uniform and dress codes
- support and implement safety procedures and programs
- maintain confidentiality of guest credit card information
- cooperate with co-workers and supervisors to resolve complaints and concerns
- promote positive public relations with community and guests
- perform other duties as assigned
