Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in related field or industry
  • standing capability for a minimum of four hours
  • ability to move a maximum of 40 pounds from 6 to 48 inches
  • ability to move a maximum of 40 pounds up to 15 feet
  • ability to pick up items from floor, case, shelf, or cart
  • ability to retrieve merchandise approximately 84 inches from the floor
  • ability to bend and twist at the waist while cleaning, moving, or loading/unloading merchandise
  • comply with company policies and applicable laws
  • ability to work inside with transitions of heat, cold, humidity, and dust from store entrance and exit doors
  • commitment to diversity and inclusion and ability to work respectfully with others

Job Qualifications

  • Above and beyond customer service
  • basic mathematics including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in related field or industry

Job Duties

  • Greet, assist, and ring out all customers politely
  • process customer purchases quickly and accurately using electronic cash register, scanner, and scale
  • clean the register area including sweeping floors, cleaning check lanes, registers and scales
  • prevent loss of money and merchandise by careful product handling and following store procedures for coupons, WIC, vouchers, checks, credit and debit cards
  • assure safety by understanding and practicing store safety rules and reporting hazards
  • bag customer purchases quickly and correctly
  • understand the operation and safety requirements of electronic cash register, scanner, scale and intercom system
  • perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors including substituting for absent workers and additional tasks necessary to provide products and services to customers
