Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
- weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- understand use of check-stand equipment including register, scanner, scale, belts and its efficient operation
- perform front-end merchandising duties such as stocking newspapers, periodicals, candy
- ensure proper use of product identification and corresponding PLUs, report errors in pricing or signage
- maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations
- communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
- comply with company policies on security, cash handling, product handling, sale of alcohol and tobacco
- maintain a clean and well-stocked department following safety and sanitation procedures
- assist with stocking items as needed
- follow all PPE and safety guidelines
- follow all food safety and cleaning expectations
- follow guest experience guidelines
- assist in other departments based on customer experience needs
- perform additional responsibilities as assigned
