Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of cashier experience
  • Basic math skills
  • Reliable attendance
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work flexible shifts
  • Strong communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience as a cashier
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to handle cash accurately
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of point-of-sale systems
  • Problem-solving abilities

Job Duties

  • Provide fast, friendly, accurate and safe service to customers at checkout
  • Process checkout and return transactions
  • Monitor and maintain the self-checkout area
  • Proactively seek product and project knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities
  • Follow all policies and procedures to minimize shrink
  • Position cashiers and support them by expediting price checks
  • Approve point-of-sale transactions and markdowns for various service points
  • Provide first level escalation for customer issues
  • Assist in supervising, coaching and training other Front End Associates
  • Participate in training new cashiers and utilize coaching tools to develop cashier skills
