- Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk preferred
- Ability to work cooperatively in fast-paced environments
- Honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information
- Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
- Ability to follow directions and ask for help when needed
- Ability to provide support to diverse customers including minors and individuals with special needs
Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly at the checkout lanes
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the Point of Sale system
- Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons according to company policies
- Adhere to guidelines on cash shortages, overages, restricted sale items, and loss prevention
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay updated on current, future, seasonal, and special promotions
- Comply with food safety regulations and reinforce safety programs by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions
- Perform preventive maintenance checks and report equipment issues
- Create a welcoming environment by answering product-related questions and supporting customers with special needs
- Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicts reasonably and non-confrontationally
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
