Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively and visibly
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Operate Point of Sale (POS) system handling various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, and coupons
- Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages, overages, and restricted sale items
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with sales promotions, ads, and food safety regulations
- Maintain safety by complying with procedures, identifying hazards, and reporting issues
- Inspect equipment and report repair needs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer inquiries
- Follow all local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflicts reasonably and nonconfrontationally
- Uphold honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information
- Provide assistance through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
