Job Duties

  • Greet, engage and assist customers actively
  • process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons
  • adhere to cash shortage and overage policies to control loss
  • enforce guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
  • report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
  • adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • comply with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions
  • practice preventive maintenance and report equipment issues
  • create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued
  • comply with all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
  • work cooperatively in high-paced and stressful environments
  • manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
  • act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues
  • provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
