Job Duties

  • Greet, engage and assist customers actively and visibly
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the POS system
  • Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons according to company policy
  • Control cash shortages and overages honestly and effectively to prevent loss
  • Adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay current with seasonal and special ads
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Reinforce safety programs by identifying unsafe conditions and notifying management
  • Inspect equipment for maintenance needs and notify appropriate personnel
  • Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with product questions
  • Adhere to all local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Manage conflict reasonably and nonconfrontationally
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
  • Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
