Job Duties

  • Greet, engage and assist customers actively as a visible team member
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane
  • Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons and loyalty offers according to company policies
  • Adhere to company guidelines on cash shortages, overages and restricted sales items
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay current with seasonal and special advertisements
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or accidents to management
  • Inspect equipment and notify management of needed repairs
  • Provide customers with product information and support
  • Comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in high-paced and stressful environments
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
  • Support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction
