Job Duties
- Greet and engage customers actively and courteously as a visible team member at the check lane
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the Point of Sale (POS) system
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy
- Adhere to company guidelines on cash shortages, overages, and restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Maintain knowledge of current and seasonal ads
- Comply with all food safety regulations and store safety procedures
- Identify unsafe conditions and notify management
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
- Provide knowledgeable assistance to customers regarding products and store policies
- Follow local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Provide support to special needs individuals, minors, and older adults
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Act with honesty and integrity concerning customer and business information
