Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively and visibly
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the POS system
- Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, and coupons according to company policy
- Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages to control loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Comply with established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay informed about current, upcoming, seasonal and special promotions
- Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to management
- Inspect equipment and report repair needs
- Answer customer questions regarding products and store departments
- Adhere to local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed
- Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
