Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively
- process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- manage various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons following company policy
- adhere to company limits on cash overages and shortages and work to control loss
- follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- stay current with promotions, seasonal, and special advertisements
- adhere to food safety and store safety regulations
- inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and notify management of repairs needed
- create a welcoming environment answering customer questions about products
- comply with all local, state, and federal laws and company policies
- work cooperatively in high-paced and occasionally stressful environments
- manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
- act with honesty and integrity regarding all customer and business information
- provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction
- seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
