Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly
- Process customer transactions through check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various payment tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons according to company policy
- Adhere to company guidelines on cash shortages/overages and restricted sale items
- Report pricing discrepancies to Scan Coordinator
- Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with all promotional ads
- Comply with food safety regulations
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or accidents to management
- Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment issues
- Provide product information and foster a welcoming environment
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner
- Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance as needed
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential duties with or without accommodation
