Job Duties

  • Greet and assist customers actively and enthusiastically at the checkout
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale system
  • Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons according to company policies
  • Adhere to company guidelines on cash shortages, overages, and restricted sale items like alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies and follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special advertisements
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and company safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions
  • Support equipment maintenance by inspecting and reporting items needing repair
  • Provide customer service by answering questions about products sold in the store
  • Follow all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Manage conflicts reasonably and nonconfrontationally
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Seek assistance and follow directions to resolve customer and business issues
  • Provide direct support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
