Job Duties
- Greet and assist customers actively and enthusiastically at the checkout
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale system
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons according to company policies
- Adhere to company guidelines on cash shortages, overages, and restricted sale items like alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special advertisements
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and company safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions
- Support equipment maintenance by inspecting and reporting items needing repair
- Provide customer service by answering questions about products sold in the store
- Follow all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflicts reasonably and nonconfrontationally
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Seek assistance and follow directions to resolve customer and business issues
- Provide direct support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
