Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly
- process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the POS system
- handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, and coupons according to company policy
- understand and adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages to control loss
- adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
- adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- comply with safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions or accidents, and notify store management
- inspect equipment and notify appropriate personnel of repair needs
- create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering product questions
- adhere to local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines
- work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environments
- manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively
- act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
- provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
