Job Duties
- Greet and assist customers proactively and courteously
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently
- Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy
- Adhere to cash management policies and control loss by minimizing cash shortages and overages
- Enforce restrictions on the sale of items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies and adhere to procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and ads
- Comply with all food safety regulations and company safety protocols
- Identify and report unsafe conditions to store management
- Maintain equipment by performing preventive maintenance checks and notifying appropriate personnel
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions regarding products and store services
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational way
- Uphold honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues
- Offer support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as necessary
