Job Duties

  • Greet and assist customers proactively and courteously
  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy
  • Adhere to cash management policies and control loss by minimizing cash shortages and overages
  • Enforce restrictions on the sale of items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies and adhere to procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and ads
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and company safety protocols
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions to store management
  • Maintain equipment by performing preventive maintenance checks and notifying appropriate personnel
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions regarding products and store services
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational way
  • Uphold honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues
  • Offer support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as necessary
  • Perform essential job functions reliably, with or without reasonable accommodation
