Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively
- process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system handling various tender types such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons, and loyalty offers
- adhere to company policies on cash handling, loss prevention, and restricted sales (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs)
- report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- stay updated on current, seasonal, and special advertisements
- comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines
- reinforce safety programs by adhering to safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or accidents
- perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting issues
- create a welcoming environment by answering product questions
- comply with all local, state, and federal laws and company policies
- work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- manage conflicts reasonably and nonconfrontationally
- act with honesty and integrity concerning customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance as needed
- provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
