Job Duties

  • Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy
  • Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work honestly to control loss
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and notifying management of unsafe conditions
  • Inspect equipment and report repair needs
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering product questions
  • Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
