- Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred
Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane
- Operate Point of Sale (POS) system handling cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons, and loyalty offers
- Adhere to company policies on restricted sales, cash shortages, and overages to control loss
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Maintain adherence to food safety regulations and company safety programs
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or accidents and notify store management
- Perform preventive maintenance checks and notify appropriate personnel of repairs needed
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products and store policies
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and nonconfrontationally
- Maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
