Job Duties
- Greet and engage customers actively
- process customer transactions quickly and accurately using the POS system
- handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons
- adhere to company policies on restricted sales such as alcohol and tobacco
- report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- stay updated with current and seasonal ads
- comply with all food safety regulations and company guidelines
- identify and report unsafe conditions and support store safety programs
- perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed
- create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product-related questions
- work cooperatively in a fast-paced, stressful environment
- manage conflict reasonably and nonconfrontationally
- maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
- provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
