Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Customer service experience
- Effective communication skills
- Basic math skills including counting, addition, and subtraction
- Ability to operate Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks as needed
- Ability to adhere to safety and food safety regulations
- Ability to cooperate and work in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to honesty and integrity
- Ability to handle money accurately

Job Duties
- Actively greet and assist customers in a visible manner
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons according to company policy
- Monitor and control cash shortages and overages honestly and effectively
- Adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with seasonal and special promotions
- Comply with all food safety regulations and safety programs
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment needing repair
- Create a welcoming environment and answer customer questions about products
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
- Manage conflicts reasonably and nonconfrontationally
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed
- Provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
