Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage, and assist customers
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Understand and operate the Point of Sale system handling various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, complex loyalty offers, and coupons
- Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages and overages to control loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sales items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and notifying management of unsafe conditions
- Inspect equipment for maintenance needs and notify appropriate personnel
- Create a welcoming environment by answering product questions
- Comply with all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively and manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
