Job Duties
- Greet and engage customers actively and respectfully
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently using the POS system
- Handle various payment types including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers in accordance with company policies
- Monitor and manage cash shortages or overages honestly to control loss
- Adhere to guidelines on restricted sales such as alcohol, tobacco and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow store procedures for stamps, gift cards and coupons
- Maintain food safety standards and comply with all relevant regulations
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues to management
- Provide excellent customer service by answering product-related questions and assisting various customer needs
- Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- Manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
- Demonstrate honesty and integrity when handling customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues
- Deliver support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults respectfully and effectively
