Job Requirements
- Customer service experience
- effective communication skills
- knowledge of basic math including counting, addition, and subtraction
- ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment

- prior experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk is desired
Job Duties
- Greet customers warmly and engage to provide exceptional service
- process customer transactions quickly and accurately using the Point of Sale system
- handle multiple types of payment such as cash, checks, cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons according to company policy
- adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages to control loss
- comply with guidelines on restricted sales of items like alcohol and tobacco
- report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- stay updated on current and seasonal promotions
- adhere to all food safety regulations and safety procedures
- identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment needs
- create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with product questions
- comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner
- maintain honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information
- seek assistance as needed to resolve issues
- provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
