Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
- weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- understand use of check-stand equipment including register, scanner, scale, belts and its efficient operation
- perform front-end duties such as merchandising check-stand items
- ensure proper use of product identification and corresponding PLUs and report errors in pricing or signage
- communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers and model high standards of service
- comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, and sales of restricted items
- maintain a clean and well-stocked department adhering to safety and sanitation standards
- assist with stocking items as needed
- follow all PPE, safety, food safety, cleaning, and guest experience guidelines
- perform additional department tasks based on customer service needs
- perform other duties as assigned
