Job Duties

  • Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
  • process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
  • weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
  • understand use of check-stand equipment including register, scanner, scale, belts and its efficient operation
  • perform front-end duties such as merchandising check-stand items
  • ensure proper use of product identification and corresponding PLUs and report errors in pricing or signage
  • communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers and model high standards of service
  • comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, and sales of restricted items
  • maintain a clean and well-stocked department adhering to safety and sanitation standards
  • assist with stocking items as needed
  • follow all PPE, safety, food safety, cleaning, and guest experience guidelines
  • perform additional department tasks based on customer service needs
  • perform other duties as assigned
