Job Duties

  • Greet customers actively and provide assistance during transactions
  • Process customer purchases quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Handle multiple payment methods including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers
  • Monitor and control cash shortages and overages honestly to prevent loss
  • Adhere to guidelines on restricted sales items such as alcohol and tobacco
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay updated on current, future, seasonal, and special promotions
  • Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and store policies
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions to store management
  • Inspect equipment for maintenance needs and notify the appropriate personnel
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products
  • Adhere to all applicable local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment
  • Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner
  • Handle customer and business information honestly
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when resolving customer issues
  • Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
