Job Duties

  • Greet and engage customers actively and courteously at the checkout
  • Process customer transactions swiftly, accurately, and efficiently through the POS system
  • Handle various payment types including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and coupons according to company policy
  • Manage and report pricing discrepancies and adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
  • Follow established procedures for processing postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming advertisements, promotions, and sales events
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and reinforce safety programs by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents to management
  • Perform preventive maintenance on checkout equipment and notify supervisors of repair needs
  • Provide exceptional customer support by answering product-related questions and making customers feel welcomed and valued
  • Follow all local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer or business issues
  • Support and assist diverse customers including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Successfully perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
