Job Duties
- Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy
- Understand and adhere to cash shortage and overage limits and control loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents
- Inspect equipment and notify management of any repair needs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering product questions
- Adhere to local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance as needed
- Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
