Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy
- Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work effectively to control loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Comply with established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay informed of current and upcoming ads and promotions
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Identify unsafe conditions, report accidents or issues to management, and comply with safety procedures
- Conduct preventive maintenance checks and report equipment needing repair
- Provide knowledgeable answers to customer questions about products and store operations
- Comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflict nonconfrontationally
- Demonstrate honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
