Job Requirements
- Ability to meet attendance requirements
- ability to operate a cash register
- ability to accurately and timely perform routine mathematical computations and count change
- ability to operate and answer the telephone
- ability to perform physical tasks including sitting, walking, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling
- capable of carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving objects typically less than 50 lbs
- willingness to support the religious mission of The Salvation Army
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- experience working in a retail store preferred
- knowledge of effective customer service techniques
- knowledge of the principles and practices of basic mathematics
- ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English
Job Duties
- Assist store customers in selecting and purchasing items
- operate and maintain a cash register
- collect monies, count change, and prepare receipts
- balance the cash register drawer and print routine register printouts
- prepare and deliver bank deposits
- respond to customers questions and assist customers who are donating items
- maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of merchandise and displays
