Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- one year of prior retail or related experience preferred
- good verbal communication skills
- good customer service and organizational skills
- basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- willing to work in typical retail store environment with varied temperatures and moderate noise
- able to follow PPE, food safety, and cleaning guidelines

Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- process financial transactions accurately including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons
- weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- maintain and merchandise check-stand products such as newspapers, periodicals, and candy
- ensure proper use of product identification and PLUs, reporting pricing or signage errors
- communicate company programs, in-store specials and coupons to customers
- comply with security, cash handling, and product handling procedures
- maintain cleanliness and stock levels of the department
- assist with stocking items as needed
- follow all personal protective equipment and safety guidelines
- adhere to food safety and cleaning expectations
- follow guest experience guidelines
- perform other departmental tasks based on customer experience needs
- assume additional responsibilities as assigned
